The Palace is not a mere mausoleum, monument, a house dominated by cold, dignified silence, but all of that and much more: it emits the pulse of life, ambitions, circulation of authors and their feats, frequently in the focus of interest of the public in culture.<\/p>\n

The creation of the Madlena Art Palace lasted for five years, while its ceremonial opening, thus its birth, took place on 19 September 2022, attended by a large number of guests from cultural and public life.<\/p>\n

The Madlena Art Palace was opened with the thematic exhibition entitled \u201cChairs\u201d, the sub-title of which posed a philosophical question: Would you like to sit on a work of art? After the Madlenianum Opera and Theatre and Zepter Museum, the Madlena Art Palace was conceived as a lavish multi-cultural house, the salons of which are open for all artistic area of top esthetics, original concepts, and sophisticated expression, where skill and perfection are imperative.<\/p>\n

The contents of the programme of the Madlena Art Palace are conceived as a counter-weight and contrast to everything vulgar, shallow, in bad taste, commercial, phony, and worthless that contaminates the spiritual space and the public discourse in the world today. In principle, with their strict approach and particular attitude to all that is offered, the creators of the programme do not aim at quantity and just passing time but deliver as much content as possible in the given month or year, with the content truly worthy of the goals of the Madlena Arts Palace.<\/p>\n

Cultural events at the Madlena Art Palace need to have the spirit of the Avant-guard, but the attractive as well. They support creative potential of, primarily, young people and act as a bridge between us in Serbia and leading trends in the international world of today. Madlena Art Palace is superior, modern, but also respectful of classic and tradition. It stands for more than a mere institution of culture, being always in the focus of the public eye, applying strict criteria to ensure the reputation of an exclusive place so that those who participate in realization of the programme feel honoured and privileged.<\/p>\n

What is it that is so exclusive and new for Belgrade, yet so justified and valuable?<\/strong><\/h4>\n

Firstly, these are the events, artistic feats, and creative personalities we have not encountered so far, who are well-recognized and approved world-wide. There is a significant number of newly-discovered vocal soloists in all music categories, new pianists, celloists, chamber music orchestras, new ballet dancers who cultivate modern dancing forms \u2026 The door of the Madlena Art Palace is wide open for original and valuable achievements in fiction, small daring theatrical forms, guest performances of foreign performers of top rank in esthetic and speculative terms, public speakers, lecturers, and enthusiastic young talents.<\/p>\n

A part of the Madlena Art Palace is enriched with the permanent setting of the Antiques Museum, which presents an exceptionally valuable collection of period furniture, lavish sets, and other works of art. The unique artifacts from different periods and areas are set in perfect harmony enriching the whole area, which gives authenticity to overall interior. Each individual artifact reveals its individual story, while each story is interlaced with magical thread of the historic period and style, which in museum spaces leave an imprint of eternity. All esthetic categories and notions find their shelter in rooms and drawing-rooms equipped in different styles; therefore, we will simultaneously be agleam with the baroque splendor of the Sun King Louis XVI or encouraged by the victorious spirit of Napoleon I Bonaparte revealing the bold Style Empire. We might also be attracted by the aristocratic manners of the Georgian-Victorian era, or enlightened by the philosophy and wisdom of the Far East, where the Oriental collection comprises an imposing collection of Japanese and Chinese applied art.<\/p>\n

Madlena Art Palace also comprises a chamber-music scene and a cinema, envisaged for theatrical and music performances, film screenings, book promotions, and philosophic and artistic debates. In the beautiful area under the dome at the second floor of the Palace there is a library with more than 6000 carefully selected books in the area of art and design, architecture, music, theatre, contemporary literature, classical literature, etc.<\/p>\n

By the quantity and quality of its artifacts, the Madlena Art Palace and the museum collection of antiques is unique not only at the territory of Serbia, but also in the region and South-East Europe as a whole. It is doubtless that the Museum is the symbol of artistic heritage of MRS Zepter for the future of Serbian culture and permanent testimony of victory of beauty and spirituality.<\/p>\n
