The third and final evening within the event “Days of Italy” took place at Madlena Art Palace on 27 May, with the beginning at 7 p.m.
The ceremonial closing included a scenic and musical performance – a dynamic musical spectacle of Italian dances originating from the south of Italy, that is, Apulia region. The concert was held under the title “Dances of Apulia” featuring performing of the musical quartet Quartetto Salentino, presenting a number of Italian national dances – tarantellas, performed on traditional instruments: the accordion, the bagpipe, the mandolin, and the tambourine. The musicians were Roberto Gemma and Giacomo Casciaro, supported by Stefania Morciano, and led by instrumentalist Nico Berardi. The dancing numbers were performed by top dancers, the dancing couple Veronica Calati and Marco Martano, who literally raised the audience to their feet and brought the guests onto the stage to dance together with them.
The concert was attended by ambassadors and members of diplomatic corps, renowned public figures, and numerous lovers of Italian art and culture.
The programme was successfully realized thanks to the Zepter family – Mrs Madlena and Mr Filip Zepter – administration of Madlena Art Palace, Italian Embassy and His Excellency Luca Gori, as well as Italian Cultural Institute in Belgrade.
